We’re unofficially kicking off the conference Thursday night on the rooftop of the Dana Hotel at the Vertigo Lounge. To get to the rooftop, you first need to go to the lobby, get carded, and then hop on a special elevator that takes you to Vertigo. The reception is from 6 – 9 pm.
Their website suggests that you “dress to impress,” so we’ll leave it up to you to interpret what that means.
Our chapter looks forward to hosting the National Conference, we’re only a week away! My name is Andy Smerczak-Zorza and I am chair of our hospitality organizing committee. On the Saturday (8/22) night of the conference, after the dinner hosted by CLAIR, we would like to invite you to a sketch comedy show America: All Better! performed at the famous Second City theater. This performance which satirizes America’s political atmosphere in the wake of President Barack Obama and introduces you to former Illinois Governor, Rod Blagojevich (maybe you’ve heard of him) will begin at 11pm and costs $25. We think you will enjoy this taste of Chicago-style humor.
We have reserved 50 tickets for this event, so if you are interested please email me by Monday 8/23, 12 noon central to secure your ticket. You can pay for your ticket with cash or check when you arrive at the Dana Hotel on Thursday.

The Japan Information Center needs JET Alumni to promote the JET Program at local colleges and job fairs. JET Alumni can attend college career fairs or do classroom visits or information sessions on campus. The JIC will provide a stipend and cover traveling expenses (if applicable). FYI – If any of the JETAA delegates whose hotel room is covered by the Consulate cancels their room after Aug 18, 2009 they are responsible for their cancellation fees as the Consulate does not cover them.
